Schlüsselfeld considers almost 6000 inhabitants in 22
districts. It belongs to upper- Franconia and has been equipped
with city-rights since 1336.
It´s also called "Key to the Steigerwald".
And this by a good reason: Here in Schlüsselfeld Steigerwald
opens up in its whole versatility!
History and present, nature and culture - like under a magnifying
glass the whole variety of foreman-forest is united here.
Completely city, but however as well country, Schlüsselfeld
offers alternation and conversation, silence and thoughtfulness
to its guests at the same time!
Since 1993 the Steigerwald comes to life in the areas of
the old town hall - presently the city-museum -. The tense
bow runs up from the ground under our feet across the nature
on it to the working human in it: That means, we learn to
know geology, ecology, history and folklore of the Steigerwald.
